Roland Garros is the second of the Grand Slam tournaments on the annual tennis calendar and the premier clay court tennis tournament in the world. Named after a World War I French Aviator and situated on the far West end of Paris, the seventy nine year-old stadium often makes many higher ranked players struggle. Because of the slow playing surface and the five-set men's singles matches with no final set tiebreak, the event is considered to be the most physically demanding tennis tournament in the world.
